Green Things

According to the Rockford Register Star web site, it's -3°F right now, and overcast. There is (more) snow in today's forecast. The extended forecast shows little blue symbols that I can't quite make out, but I think they are graphic depictions of people chipping the ice off their windshields.

The photo, above, is from our vacation to Phoenix, AZ this past September. It makes me warmer just looking at it. It was 80°F early in the morning, and just got hotter as the day progressed. This is the courtyard of our hotel, which was just beautiful. Now that I think of it, though, we were in the middle of the desert and they were running a fountain nonstop, which seems just wrong, doesn't it?

To balance out my bad fountain karma, here are a few of my favorite green links. Most of these are on the light side, because in my world, eco should be fun.

Al Definitely not light nor fluffy, but I have to include it, and at the top of my list, too. Everyone needs to see this movie.

Treehugger Love them. "TreeHugger is a fast-growing web magazine, dedicated to everything that has a modern aesthetic yet is environmentally responsible. Our goal is to make sustainability mainstream and to be the one-stop for the environment. If you want doom & gloom, this is not the place. We are looking for solutions, constructive developments and positive initiatives."

Simply Green, "Green and crafty ideas for everyday living," from author Danny Seo.

ReallyNatural, "Product reviews and practical tips for living a more natural life."

The Green Guide, "consumers' go-to source for green homes tips, eco-product reviews, environmental health information, and green living advice."

Eco Chick, "because mother earth is a woman."

Fabulously Green, Stephanie Zhong "reports on the hottest eco-style products in FASHION and INTERIOR DESIGN: products that blend modern style with sustainability and social responsibility."

fiftyRx3, amazing green fashion coverage "perusing the crossroads of style and sustainability"

A Fresh Squeeze, "Chicago's place for information on green living," which I've mentioned before.

If anyone has any more recommendations they'd like to add to the list, please feel free to post in comments. And if you are living somewhere with weather anything like ours, don't forget a hat.

Holy cow! Look at all those links! Nice to have you back. I'll have to visit them all later, when They aren't watching.
