on a lighter note...

Isn't this how you would sleep if you had a soft, comfy bed that was just your size?

Let this be a lesson to those of you who think that every wrapped gift is for you.

Friday Archives

You know, I know I drew this, I remember drawing this. I have no idea when. I think it was maybe the late 80s?

I wish I'd saved a lot more of my artwork through the years. And what I have saved, I wish I'd at least dated. I will start doing that, I think. The other day I made a print for my sister, and she made me sign it. I never even sign my work. Why not? I'm going to start doing that, too.

best lamp on planet

I have a crafty husband. I mean, the man has his own sewing machine. Still, he seems to think he isn't, but here I present to you evidence to the contrary:

Before: Scruffy brown lamp. Cute shape, ugly color.

After: Shiny Happy Orange Lamp!

My favorite lamp ever. Thank you so much, sweetie.

Hey, look, our lamp is featured here today! Thanks, Shayna!

Lawd 'a Mercy

Sources close to home tell me that my mom, who is 83 years old, and has smoked since, oh, birth I'm guessing (that's 1925 for those of you unwilling to do the math) has QUIT SMOKING. Apparently it's been over a month, too. Wow. Huh.

Above photo, not Mom.

She's in really good health, but I think some congratulations might be in order (she doesn't read this, but I can print it out for her). (p.s. Her name is Bess)

Start cleaning up after yourselves, people. The apocalypse is clearly nigh.

Friday Archives

Hi! How's everyone doing? Hey, here's an idea.

Claire from Loobylu has started something called the "Friday Archives," wherein she posts some of her work (artwork, crafts, stories) from her past. It sounded interesting, so I thought I'd play along (until next Friday, when I'll probably forget). You should do it, too! (Technically, I guess all our work is from our past, isn't it? Ha. Ha.)

Here's a litho I did when I was taking a printing class at the Evanston Art Center in, oh, about 1996 or 1997.

I loved printmaking. I think I should take another class, now that I'm back living close to the Art Center.

Happy weekending!

I'd better hurry...

...and post this before my internet connection goes poof. Someone will be here Wednesday to tell me why the only phone line in the house is one that snakes out the window.

A stormy monday today, and a little dark in here.

Someone is a little upset because they aren't allowed in the kitchen right now.

More soon. I miss you.
